Inspection Fixtures

Inspection fixtures are used to allow fast, accurate inspection of certain features of a production part. Their use can make it possible for less skilled personnel to achieve accurate results and reduce or eliminate the need to tie up expensive multi-purpose measuring machines and their well-trained operators. They can also do double duty by facilitating target or general machining, again reducing or eliminating time spent on expensive machine tools with their highly-trained operators. Inspection fixtures are also used in circumstances where the production part must be constrained to fixed physical conditions during inspection.
